The Sports Program at Kimberley College offers a wide range of unique programs within our curriculum, co-curricular activities and representative competitions.

Here at Kimberley College, we highly value sport as it develops skills and characteristics that will assist students in their every-day life. We are constantly developing our programs to ensure we can meet the needs of our students.

Primary and Middle school students engage in Physical Education lessons each week. These classes prepare them for an end of term tournament, performance, or final produce within the school. Our curriculum is designed to build teamwork, dedication, confidence and leadership skills.

Senior school students have various opportunities to partake in sport, including the following elective subjects: Physical Education, Health and Recreation Studies. These subjects not only offer physical activity, but an academic pathway to further their knowledge in sport and physical health.

Co-curricular Sports

  • Swimming
  • Cross Country
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Kimberley College Football Academy (KCFA)
  • Kimberley College Equestrian Team (middle and senior school students only)

As part of the Pacific School Sport District, and a member of the greater South Coast Sport District, students can nominate and attend sport trial dates for zone, district, regional, and state teams. These trials are for students who already participate in sports at a high level outside of school. In the past, Kimberley College has enjoyed successes such as being selected for regional, state and national representative teams.

The Kimberley College Core Four Program offers a selection of four sports for our middle and senior school students. The core four is staffed by a mixture of professional external coaches and our in-house sports staff.

  • Basketball
  • Football (Soccer)
  • Touch Football
  • Netball

Each sport holds training sessions on a weekly basis with a professional coach to assist, support and prepare students for inter-school competition.

Competition Seasons
Kimberley College competes in the northern AGCC (Association of Gold Coast Colleges) against five other schools across each semester. As a member of the Pacific District for representative sport, our teams also compete in gala days across semester one.

The Kimberley College Sports Award evening is the highlight each year of the sports program and it is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate sporting excellence both at school and in the broader community and includes the prestigious Sportsperson of the Year award.
